Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you but I have been really busy on my return to Australia.
I have shown the Slapbox to a few different people and they like the idea of the box.
The guys I have shown it to are all drummers and one of them is interested in marketing the idea with me especially to music schools and schools in general.
I will be having a meeting with him on Monday next week to discuss where and how we are going to look at the market.
I am so glad I bought one back with me easy to show then to explain how it works.
I got the box through customs without a problem and never got charged excess baggage.
I will be looking and asking at some hotels as well about the group and work for you in Australia in the next couple of days.
I am still trying to work out costs for a two or three week tour.
I should send over some material on myself just in case you may have some contacts for a couple of gigs for me over there.I really miss the place already.
I am also organising the charts for Arlene that we worked out when I was over there.
I will copy the charts I have for her and I will need an Address to send them too.
Well Jeric thanks for the email I had'nt forgotten you but have been very busy over here since my return.

Hope you are all well.In between work and a lot of shows I am having some joy with the slapbox.
I have lent the slapbox to a drummer friend of mine who is learning how to demonstrate it and he is very impressed with it.
Jeric we must now work out costs and overheads to produce the box when we start getting orders.I have full confidence in the box.
When we get orders we should then think about the possiblity of producing them in Australia.
What would it cost for you to make ten and fedex them to Austalia.?
Logan my drummer said there is similar drum and I cant think of the name that is made in Hawaii in the USA.They sell for Around $375 and the premium model $500

Australian.
When I get the name of it I will email you.
I realistically think the Slap Box could sell for around $250 to $300 Australian ? What do you think.
Jeric let me know what you think and I will ring you over the next couple of days and catch up on the phone.
I am getting together a a promotional sheet to send to around ten hotels about the possibility of selling them Escapade.

How are you
Got your email regarding materials for the slapbox.the best idea would be to produce them here.You would have to come over and set it up.I am in the process at the

moment to get some orders and we can take it from there.The other box over here that is similar is called the Kahuna have you heard of this one.I am yet to see it and

then i will make the judgement and compare the two.
The price of the Kahuna is around $350 and the premium model sells for $500 both Australian Dollars of Course.
Re the Music Scene.
I will need some more photos of the band to make up a brochure to send out to a some Hotels and casinos over here.I need to get a package together so if you

could get me some more pics that would be good.I will email a copy of the promo I have done already to see what you think so far.
I have aalso copied some charts for Arlene that i promised.Will you email me anaddress i can send to.

I went to a music shop yesterday and the owner who is a friend of mine wants to put the slapbox in the shop and i may have orders for another 3 or 4.
I also want to send you a copy of my DVD and the other show I have called The Zips.I think you may have been on the website to have a look.
I feel once I get the Slapbox into a shop the word will get around very quickly so the outcome is looking very positive at the moment.
The Flyer I have for your band will be ready this week and I will email a copy for you when it is ready

How is downtown Manilla.Do you have the charts yet?
I will be putting the slapbox into the music store tomorrow and I have come across a Girl from Ireland who is a friend of a friend and beleive it or not she has a

percussion shop in the city.When I mentioned the slapbox to my friend he said she would most certainly be interested in having a look and placing it in her shop.
He told me she has a Hawaiian Kuna drum which is similar to the slap box.
Interest is starting to be shown here for the box which is good.It seems things may be starting to fall into place.
Well Jeric just got home from a gig and feeling a bit weary.Will definitely call you next week.
Oh Sorry i forgot to mention that depending on the interest shown in the slapbox may have to get you and Arlene over to start manufacturing in OZ.Too expensive for

How have you been?
Some good news from my end is that my brother has been put into rehabilitation and is recovering well.I must thank you and the band for your thoughts.
My contact at the music shop that i deal with is knocked out with the Slap Box and said he may want to order 5 or 6.
he has been getting a lot of feedback from Customers.
I had a call from my Fillipino Drummer Jerry and he told me that There is a German Slapbox at a Latino shop in Bankstown not far from where i live.
The cost of the german slapbox called a merilin is $420Au
So I feel that we should sell yours over here around $320 to be in the market place.He also told me he is going to play the german one to compare sound.
He has put me onto a Fillipino Freight Company that bought RJ over for some concerts in Australia and he feels we may get a good deal on freight costs which is a

good thing.
The word is starting to get around on the Slapbox so depending on orders and the cost of freight we may have to bring you over for a week or two to produce the

orders here all depending on cost ect

get caught by man's smooth words.
When I was in my teens I was challenged to play music for the secular world or for the Lord. I was offered to join many local bands and guess what, I was the

pioneer staff to work for HARD ROCK CAFE ASIA in the 90's.

I have met Peabo Bryson, Patti Austin, Eric Clapton, Chicago, Brian Adams, Kenny G, BB King, KC & the Sunshine band, Gloria Estefan , Brecker Brothers, John

Mayall and the Blues Breakers, DAD, Deff Leppard, Nathan East, Survivor, Color Me Bad, and other samll time artists.

I used to be in charge of many bands who rotated in our Cafe's in SEA.

When I was in Manila 2 yrs. ago, I got to know Mr. Richard Merck and sang a song in his Cafe Mercks @ the Glorietta and enjoyed theHavanna Cuban band.

Incidentally my colleague and I prayed for Mr. Merck and his mother who was ill at that time and i thank God for that.

I will keep the business simple and order thru you as we go along. The beauty is that each cajon you make is handmade and personally tuned.

Quality is something that you cannot compromise and i endorse that very much. I will collate orders and then work on suitable timings etc... I believe that this is the

start of a good friendship. Go Bless you my brother!

The slapbox is great. I love the bass tones! Overall excellent handiwork and good value for money! If you can get a bag it would be great.

In our style of playing we employ plenty of Indian rythms to our songs at the snare, the finger works sound superb on the tone set on the snare. We had a great time

jamming at my place the toher day. am going to order more slapbox and will let you know when. If you can get darker wood tones for the sides it would be great!
We are impressed bigtime!!!

Which version has the bass sound located higher? I assume it's the slaptap A?

Are there any other advantages that the slaptap A has over the slaptap B? I guess the question is, what do you get extra on slaptap A to justify the extra P800 in

cost?

Sorry for the late reply.

My family and I went away for the long weekend (public holiday today) so I had no internet access for 4 days.

It's unfortunate that people has made a business proposition and has not gone through with it.

I will definately pass the word around and if any of my contacts are interested I will introduce you.

Once they see and here the cajon you made I'm sure it will raise more interest.

With 2 people working on making the cajons, how many cajons can be manufactured in for example 5 days?

Also, can you please confirm when my Slaptap A will be finished so I can ask my other cousin to organise pick up. Also, does the cajon have a rubber footing (so it

doesn't scrath the floor etc.)?

I'm pretty much set on getting another cajon and get my brother to being it back here for me.
